On February 27th, 2009 at Dusit Thani Hua Hin Hotel, Cha-am, Phetchaburi, ASEAN Economic Ministers signed six Economic Agreements with their Dialogue Partners as follows:

On February 27th, 2009 at Dusit Thani Hua Hin Hotel, Cha-am, Phetchaburi, ASEAN Economic Ministers signed six Economic Agreements with their Dialogue Partners as follows:

1. ASEAN Establishing the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Area (the main agreement with annexes and schedules)

2. Understanding on Article 1 (Reduction and/or Elimination

of Customs Duties) of Chapter 2 (Trade in Goods) of the AANZFTA

3.Implementing Arrangement for the AANFTA Economic Co-operation Work Programme Pursuant to Chapter 12 (Economic Co-operation) of the AANFTA

4.Protocol on the Accession of the Kingdom of Thailand among the Parties to the Agreement on Trade in Goods under the Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Economic Cooperation between ASEAN and the Republic of Korea

5. Proposing as well as Replying Notes by ASEAN on the Understanding in relations to Rule 6 of Annex 3 of the TIG Agreement (GIC Product)

6.Protocol on the Accession of the Kingdom of Thailand among the Parties to the Agreement on Trade in Services under the Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Economic Cooperation between ASEAN and the Republic of Korea.

The above-mentioned Agreements will form a fundamental basis in enhancing economic linkages between Member States of ASEAN and their dialogue partners, increasing ASEAN’s attractiveness, expanding ASEAN’s economic partnership, as well as increasing trade and investment opportunity outside the region for ASEAN companies.
