At a get-together for overseas Vietnamese living in Marseille on February 8, representatives of the Municipal Council praised Vietnamese nationals in the city for their contributions to the local community and wished them all a new year of success and happiness.

Also at the event, Vietnamese residents in Marseille enjoyed a special performance by a theatre group from Ho Chi Minh City, which included an ao dai (traditional dress) show, and Vietnamese songs and music.

Many international guests at the meeting were greatly impressed by the new year atmosphere and the solidarity between the Vietnamese community overseas and those living in Vietnam.

“Vietnamese people are so wonderful and so united,” said Jean Betrou, a Marseille resident. “Those that I met were all full of unity, friendship and humanity.”
