VietNamNet Bridge – One year after the first-ever Question and Answer session of the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee, three ministers will be questioned in the second Q&A session in March.

Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court Truong Hoa Binh questioned by the NA Standing Committee last March.

The NA Standing Committee, on February 25, discussed the organization of the Q&A session at the upcoming session in March.

The NA Deputy Affairs Committee Deputies suggested four Ministers for the Q&A session, including Minister of Planning and Investment Vo Hong Phuc, who has received the highest number of questions, Minister of Transport Ho Nghia Dung, Minister of Home Affair Tran Van Tuan and the Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court Truong Hoa Binh. The Q&A session is scheduled to be one-day long.

However, some deputies have proposed to choose other Ministers and to review the questions raised for them.

The Chief of the NA People’s Aspiration Committee, Tran The Vuong, does not agree with the topics for inquiry. He said it is necessary to make clear questions about the distribution of investment capital to localities, the pace of the construction of key transport works, managing transport fees and the operation of public vehicles, among others.

“We should not mistake the difference between information provision and inquiry,” Vuong said.

The NA Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Kien proposed to question Minister of Public Secuirty Le Hong Anh. “In 2007-2008, the Ministry of Public Securities announced many goals and programs, but it has not reported much about these programs yet. So should we question Minister Le Hong Anh this time?” Kien said.

Some said that the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism should answer deputies’ questions about burning issues associated with culture.

NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong concluded that the three Ministers associated with economics, culture-socials and justice will be questioned. The NA Deputy Affairs Committee will continue collecting questions from all deputies and send them to the NA Standing Committee for consideration.

At the 4th NA session, deputies raised 326 questions to the government and 21 Ministers.
