Lookatvietnam – A government delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan began a working visit to Finland on Feb. 4 to seek closer cooperation in the fields of education and training.

During his visit, Mr Nhan, who is also Minister of Education and Training, held working sessions with Finland’s leading education experts to discuss issues relating to teaching methods, information technology applications, school management and the compilation of national standardized textbooks.

He also attended classes at some primary and secondary schools in Finland, with the aim of gaining a better understanding of the education environment in Finland, which was ranked at the top of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA)’s ratings for many consecutive years.

He exchanged views with these schools’ leaders about methods to recruit teachers, educate pupils and build relationships with their parents, in addition to improving foreign language skills.

On this occasion, the Deputy PM and his staff met with staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Helsinki and extended Tet greetings to the Vietnamese community in Finland.
