Geneva will host UNCTA meeting to assess Vietnam’s investment policies.

VietNamNet Bridge - Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai on Saturday started a high-ranking delegation to Switzerland and Austria in order to strengthen economic ties and investment promotion with these two Central European countries.

Deputy PM Hai will attend a meeting held by the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) to assess Vietnam’s investment policies. UNCTAD intends to publicize its research results, analysis and assessments of foreign investment policies realized in Vietnam. It will also point out challenges to the country’s economic development and foreign investment attraction.

The Vietnamese Deputy PM will sit for a round-table meeting on Vietnam’s potentialities and investment opportunities for Swiss corporations and enterprises to share information and seek for chances of further cooperation.

During his stay in Austria, Deputy PM Hai will have meetings with the host leaders to speak of bilateral cooperation, mechanisms and policies to boost export and investment.

Founded in 1964, UNCTAD has now 191 members. This is the biggest economic and commercial organizations in the UN system. It aims at promoting economic development in general and trade in particular in all member-country, especially developing ones.
