LookAtVietnam – Russian Ambassador to Vietnam V. Serafimov has shown his deep gratitude to Vietnamese agencies and individuals who gave assistance to Russian victims of a bus accident in central Binh Thuan Province.

The accident occurred on the night of March 13, killing nine Russian tourists and a Vietnamese tour guide while injuring 15 others, 14 of who are Russian.

“We express special thanks to the leaders and staff of law enforcement bodies, soldiers and people in Bac Binh District, Binh Thuan Province, as well as workers at the Dai Ninh Hydropower Plant. They were the first on the scene to rescue Russian tourists in distress,” the Russian ambassador said in a press release on March 19.

Their self-sacrificing deed and close coordination have saved the lives of many victims, he said.

The diplomat, on behalf of the embassy staff and himself, expressed gratitude to medical workers at the General Hospitals in Lam Dong and Binh Thuan provinces and the Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, saying they have provided high-quality, professional healthcare services and whole-hearted care for the injured Russians.

He also highly valued Vietnamese organisations’ and residents’ move to send letters of condolences to the Russian Embassy over the death of the nine victims.

“We share pains with the family and relatives of Phan Ba Trinh, who travelled together with the Russian delegation during the tragic Friday,” he added.
