President of the Viet Nam-Japan Friendship Parliamentarians Union Ho Duc Viet.

Viet met a delegation from the Japan-Viet Nam Economic and Cultural Co-operation Committee under the International Friendship Exchange Council (FEC), headed by the Committee’s President Masahiro Iwashita, in Ha Noi yesterday, and affirmed that Viet Nam would create favourable conditions for FEC members to invest and do business in the country.

Viet, who is politburo member of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee and Chairman of its Personnel Commission, stated that Viet Nam has many solutions for stabilisation of the macro-economy while always considers sustainable development and socio-cultural issues, especially poverty reduction.

Masahiro Iwashita said his delegation made the visit to Viet Nam to evaluate Viet Nam’s economic situation and to create a foundation for investment and the development of economic relations between the two countries.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung also met with the Japan-Viet Nam Economic and Cultural Co-operation Committee delegation yesterday.

Hung welcomed the visit and said he was happy to see strong relations between Viet Nam and Japan from the central to local levels, with effective co-operation in many aspects such as politics, economy and culture.

Masahiro Iwashita was accompanied by leaders from 40 Japanese economic groups and companies involved in chemistry, energy, transportation and infrastructure.

FEC is a non-profit Japanese organisation, established in 1985 with more than 1,500 members who are former diplomatic officials, economists, business people and intellectuals.
