The Malaysian King holds talks with President Nguyen Minh Triet.

Malaysian King Mizan Zainal Abidin Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Mahmud Al-Muktafi Billah Shah left Hanoi on March 15, successfully concluding his visit to Vietnam from March 12 – 15 at the invitation of President Nguyen Minh Triet.

During his stay in Vietnam, he met Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, hold talks with President Nguyen Minh Triet, visited some places in the capital city of Hanoi.

The Malaysian King and the Vietnamese leaders expressed their satisfaction over the fine and quick development of friendship and comprehensive co-operation between the two countries, discussed the great orientations towards the promotion of co-operation in the field of politics, economics, trade, investment, labour, education, tourism, national security and defence, as well as the expansion of co-operative ties to the other potential areas such as science – technology, agriculture and heath care.

The two sides appreciated the fine co-operation and agreed to continue to maintain their them at the regional and international forums, especially when Vietnam will soon assume the ASEAN presidency in 2010.
