He was welcomed at the airport by the Minister of State for International Cooperation, Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah, senior officials from the Qatar Government Office, diplomats of the two countries and representatives of the overseas Vietnamese community in Qatar.

This is Mr Dung’s first visit to Qatar after the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1993.

The visit aims to expand political relations with Qatar, laying a firm legal foundation for increasing bilateral cooperation in economics, trade, investment, energy, labour and agriculture.

On March 8, Mr Dung is scheduled to hold talks on bilateral ties with his Qatar counterpart, Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani. Mr Dung will also attend a Vietnam-Qatar business forum with the participation of hundreds of businesses of the two countries.
