Deputy PM welcomes Japanese businesses

Kazakhstan is seeking Vietnamese partners to help the country diversify its economy, develop its processing sector and help set up an export industry, said Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Mr. Nazarbayev related these wishes to Vietnamese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Vu The Hiep, when he presented his credentials on March 12.

The Kazakh leader affirmed his country’s special interest in economic relations with Vietnam, as two countries share common experiences in economic reform and modernization, and similar views on key international issues such as trade and investment systems, and open dialogue between civilizations and religions.

He also suggested joint development of the agriculture industrial complex, as a vital factor in cooperation between Kazakhstan and Vietnam, amid a global cooking price surge.

Ambassador Hiep related to his host that Vietnamese leaders consider relations with Kazakhstan of the utmost importance, as a economic partner in Central Asia.

“They wish to extend bilateral friendship and expand on existing cooperation to the point of a comprehensive, durable and stable partnership,” said the Vietnamese diplomat.

Deputy PM welcomes Japanese businesses

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung on March 13 received a delegation from the Japan-Vietnam Economic and Cultural Cooperation Committee under the International Friendship Exchange Council (FEC).

He welcomed the visit and spokes highly of the good relationship between Vietnam and Japan, especially their effective cooperation in politics, economics and culture.

He said that the global economic crisis has had negative effects on both countries but also created new business opportunities. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Government will create favourable conditions for FEC members to invest in the country.

Meanwhile, the president of the committee, Masahiro Iwashita, said that he is accompanied by leaders from 40 Japanese economic groups and companies involved in chemistry, energy, transport and infrastructure. Their visit is to increase economic-cultural ties and explore opportunities in the country.

Established in 1985, FEC, a Japanese non-profit organisation, has more than 1,500 members who are former diplomatic officials, economists, businessmen and intellectuals.
