It is necessary to disseminate information about Vietnam’s history in an exciting manner to promote the patriotic tradition among young people, said President Nguyen Minh Triet.

President Triet made the statement while visiting the Vietnam Revolutionary Museum on March 4, marking its 50th founding anniversary.

He said he was proud of the nation’s undaunted tradition, of the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam which steered the Vietnam revolutionary boat through thick and thin so as to reach the Independence Day in the end

That the country had one victory after another had attributed to the strength of the great national unity, the national cultural tradition and the great support from international friends, he stressed.

Mr Triet highlighted the great contribution made by the museum’s staff in disseminating information on the national patriotic tradition among the young generation. He emphasized that it was necessary to update methods of teaching in order to make students eager to learn history.

He welcomed the museum’s initiatives to open a club entitled “I love history” and host many exhibitions, helping students learn history more easily. He also reminded the museum’s staff of cultivating their knowledge to disseminate information on revolutionary heroism to the young generation.

The museum started to open on January 6, 1959. Over the past 50 years, the museum has received tens of millions of visitors from localities nationwide and 130 countries worldwide.

It has kept more than 83,000 valuable and rare objects, photos, and documents, which are closely connected with the revolutionary life of President Ho Chi Minh and many other Party and State leaders.

In the future, the museum will co-ordinate with Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration to publish 200 articles by President Ho Chi Minh.
