LookAtVietnam – Vietnam has reiterated its tough position on Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos and called for China to follow international law in any attempt to tap East Sea resources.

Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Le Dung.

Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Le Dung said on March 17 that Vietnam would closely follow Chinese fishing ship 311’s operations at the East Sea, in reply to reporters’ question about Vietnam ’s viewpoint on the event.

“Every attempt to exploit sea cookings and resources at the East Sea should respect the rights to maritime sovereignty and jurisdiction of relevant countries in line with international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea issued in 1982,” concluded the spokesman.

China has sent fishing ship 311 to the East Sea, arousing Vietnam’s concerns over the sovereignty of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.
