Vietnamese and Laotian police forces discussed ways to strengthen cooperation against crime and maintain social order at a seminar in Da Nang Friday.

They agreed to increase exchange of information, especially on transnational crime and crime related to their nationals living in the other country, Voice of Vietnam reported.

They also agreed to co-operate to organize training courses for their officers in fighting crime.

Last year authorities in the two countries jointly busted more than 2,386 cases of drug trafficking in Vietnam along the Laotian border.
