The Japanese International Cooperation Agency will supply some US$845 million in official development assistance (ODA) to four infrastructure and environmental projects in Hanoi and Hai Phong.

The four projects under the aid, worth a total of 83 billion yen, include road improvements; the second phase of the Hanoi drainage system project; the Hanoi inner railway route 2 – from the Thang Long area in south Hanoi to Tran Hung Dao Street in the city center – and the Hai Phong environmental improvement project.

The Vietnamese government and the Japanese body (JICA) will sign the ODA agreement Tuesday, said Japanese representatives.

The Japanese government resumed its provision of ODA for infrastructure and environmental projects last month after a two-month hiatus.
