The 15-member working group will be led by Nguyen Thi Chau Long, chief of the Hanoi Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs’ Labour Policy Division.

This working group has been assigned to timely deal with illegal strikes in Hanoi, through working with employers, employees and grassroots trade unions.

The Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Huy Tuong said that the working group will not only survey the situation, the reasons, and consider documents related to strikes but also suggest solutions and measures to help related sides to reach agreements.

Before the capital city was expanded last August, Hanoi had the Steering Board for Dealing with Illegal Strikes in five big and 18 small industrial zones and hundreds of factories in the city.

The expanded city needs to reassemble the steering board and set up the above working group as an assistant to the steering board.
