Egypt increase information-communication cooperation

Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Do Quy Doan led a delegation to visit Egypt from April 13-19.

The Vietnamese delegation had working sessions with Egyptian MENA news agency, the Al-Ahram daily newspaper and the Central Press Department which focused on press activities and press management at a time when the two countries are accelerating their integration into the world’s economy, politics and society.

The hosts spoke highly of Vietnam’s development in information and communication sector, as well as the contribution of the press to the country’s construction and development.

Hai Phong and Japanese city link up

Vietnam’s northern port city of Hai Phong and Japan’s Kitakyushu city have signed an agreement on five-year cooperation in developing seaport and urban areas as well as in environmental protection, water supply and drainage.

The agreement was made during a two-day visit by a Kitakyushu delegation to Hai Phong from April 17-18.

Receiving the Japanese delegation led by mayor Kenji Kitahashi, Hai Phong leaders highlighted the cooperation between Vietnam and Japan, and between Hai Phong and Japanese cities.

They cited the Nomura-Hai Phong concentrated industrial zone, a joint-venture between Japan’s Nomura group with the city, as a manifestation of the growing relationship.

Mayor Kitahashi said his city recognised the increasing interest of local businesses in Vietnam in general and Hai Phong in particular. He said the signed agreement is expected to pave the way for further cooperation between the two cities in various fields.
