Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung is appointed as the Head of the board. The deputy heads are the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Van Giau and a senior office of the Ministry of Public Security.

The board will be in charge of assisting the Prime Minister to build strategies, policies, programs, mechanisms and solutions in preventing and combating money laundering.

The board will also help the Prime Minister to instruct, coordinate, supervise and evaluate anti-money laundering activities in Vietnam.

The agency will also combine with other forces to prevent and fight terrorism and to research and suggest policies and measures against finance for terrorism in Vietnam’s territory.
