LookAtVietnam – A delegation of senior Party and State leaders, led by Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, laid a wreath at the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi on May 17 to mark the late president’s 119th birthday.

The delegation included former Party General Secretary Do Muoi, State President Nguyen Minh Triet, former State President Tran Duc Luong, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong, former NA Chairman Nguyen Van An and many other Politburo and Party Secretariat members.

The same day, delegations of the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Public Security and mass organisations in Hanoi laid a wreath at the mausoleum.

President Ho was born on May 19, 1980 in Kim Lien village in the central province of Nghe An.

PM to attend “Future of Asia” conference in Japan

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will pay a working visit to Japan from May 21-23, according to a communiqué released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on May 17.

During his stay, he will attend the 15th international conference on The Future of Asia themed ”Asia Confronting Challenges - Pursuit of New Frontiers” to be held in Tokyo on May 21-22.
