Vietnam will announce a report on the progress of the country’s implementation of the UN Millennium Development Goals in 2008 on June 2.

Vietnam will announce a report on the progress of the country’s implementation of the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in 2008 on June 2, said an official from the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI).

At a meeting in Hoa Binh province on May 22, Deputy General Director of the National Economic Issues under the MPI, said in the report that Vietnam wants to share its experiences in the successful implementation of the MDGs and achievements in the country’s development.

Vietnam hopes for support and cooperation from the international community, especially developed countries, to ensure the MDG’s are implemented in a thorough manner by 2015, said Nhat.

“By improving the quality of MDG implementation, Vietnam , once again confirms its respect to the values and principles stipulated in the UN Millennium Declaration committed to by 189 state leaders at the Millennium Summit in September 2000,” the official asserts.

Looking towards the implementation of the MDGs in 2015, Vietnam will continue its developing the country in a sustainable manner and create best possible conditions for that process, he said.

The English version of the report will also be made public on June 2, according to MPI.
