Prime Minister meets with country’s top lawyers

LookAtVietnam – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received a delegation from the Vietnamese Lawyers’ Federation (VLF) led by its chairman Le Thuc Anh on June 18 in Hanoi.

The Government leader said that the success of the first VLF Congress indicates the maturity of the Vietnamese legal community and underlines the need for the VLF during the country’s socio-economic development.

The setting up of the VLF also validates the progressive policies the Vietnamese Party and State have introduced during the renewal period in creating a law-governed socialist country, improving the legal system and advancing the judicial reforms, he stressed.

The Prime Minister said that he hopes the VLF will keep growing in both quality and quantity, which will meet the country’s needs during the international integration process.

Lawyer Le Thuc Anh thanked the Party, State and government for supporting the organisation of the first VLF Congress and said that the federation will strive to build up a pool of 30-50 qualified and experienced lawyers who can take part in international proceedings.
