Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung Friday received a delegation of the Bangladeshi State Commission on Privatization, led by its chairman Mirza Abdul Jalil.

The Deputy PM hailed the delegation’s visit to Vietnam, saying it was a good opportunity for the two countries to share experiences and promote friendship and cooperation.

He briefed the delegation on the current situation for Vietnamese state-owned enterprises and outlined the goals of equitization, including the mobilization of more capital and human resources for production and business, changing modes of management and improving operational efficiency.

Deputy PM Hung highlighted the role of the State in the economy with a special focus on key industries, such as energy and telecommunications.

He went on to suggest that the State should target efforts at helping domestic enterprises, as well as create jobs and strengthen cooperation with foreign partners to overcome difficulties of the global financial crisis.

Hung stressed it is necessary to create a policy that creates favorable conditions for agricultural production.

The Bangladeshi official said his delegation wants to learn from Vietnam’s experiences in equitization.

He also spoke highly of the Vietnamese government’s action plan and said he expected the country would rapidly recover from the impacts of the global economic recession.
