Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has allowed the People’s Committee of the central province of Thua Thien- Hue city to implement a humanitarian project to clear landmines and alleviate poverty in Quang Vinh Commune.

The one-year project will receive nonrefundable aid of more than 350,000 euros (nearly US$489,000) from the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dung also approved a list of eight vocational training centers in the country that will receive financial assistance from the German Government to purchase equipment.

With Dung’s authorization, State Bank of Vietnam Governor Nguyen Van Giau has signed with representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) the credit agreement for a $932.4 million project.

The project is to build a highway that links Ho Chi Minh City with Long Thanh District and the Dau Giay T-junction in Thong Nhat District in neighboring Dong Nai Province.
