Vietnam to strengthen strategic ties with China: party chief

The Vietnamese Party, State and people will do their utmost to maintain and develop their traditional friendship and cooperation with China, Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh said in Hanoi Friday.

Receiving a visiting delegation from the Communist Party of China (CPC) led by Li Yuanchao, head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, Manh said that the visit reflects the attention Chinese leaders are paying to fostering ties between the two Parties and States.

This is a vivid manifestation of the strategic and comprehensive partnership between both countries, he said.

The Party leader praised the effective development bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and China at all levels.

Li said he considered his visit to Vietnam a step forward in realizing the strategic comprehensive cooperation and partnership envisioned by the countries’ leaders.

Appreciating the development of friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and States, he also confirmed that the Party, State and people of China attached great importance to furthering ties with Vietnam.

Also on Friday, the Chinese guests held talks with a Vietnamese delegation headed by Ho Duc Viet, head of the Organizing Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s Central Committee.

The two commissions signed a cooperative agreement on personnel training for the 2009-2015 period.
