US supports Vietnamâs program on disease outbreak control

| The US has provided funding and technical assistance for Vietnamâs hands-on training program for officials specializing in preventing and controlling possible future outbreaks of diseases, its embassy in Hanoi said. |
| The US Agency for International Development and the Avian and Human Pandemic Influenza Joint Government/United Nations System Program funded the two-year field epidemiology training program (FETP), launched by Vietnamâs Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization this week, while the US Centers for Disease Control provided technical assistance. FETP participants will gain valuable skills in disease surveillance, response, management, public communication, and will contribute immediately to disease surveillance and response activities.
