The Vietnamese Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Tran Quang Hoan, on August 27 joined the blog of the UK Ambassador to Vietnam Mark Kent as a guest.

“I’ve never written a blog but when Ambassador Mark Kent invited me to join, I couldn’t refuse because I see that his blog is very successful and because we are both colleagues and good friends,” Hoan said.

In his entry on Kent’s blog at http://blogs.fco.gov.uk/roller/kent, Ambassador Tran Quang Hoan wrote about his busy schedule in the UK to prepare for activities in the UK, including a campaign to advertise the image of Vietnam on taxis in London, and his feelings about the UK.

“I’m very glad that Ambassador Tran Quang Hoan accepted my invitation,” said Ambassador Mark Kent. “He has proven to be more talented than me in writing a blog. This October, the UK Embassy will cooperate with the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry to hold a seminar on digital diplomacy. I hope that many more Vietnamese diplomats will use the Internet more in having exchanges with the public.”

Ambassador Kent’s Vietnamese blog attracts thousands of readers a month and it has received a lot of feedback from Vietnamese people since it was launched on September 18, 2008.
