A three-day training course in journalism opened in Hanoi on Monday for nearly 100 spokespersons from state agencies and companies to help them better communicate with the international press.

The training course was co-organized by the Foreign Ministry and the international German multimedia corporation, the WAZ Group and Germany’s international broadcaster – Deutsche Welle. The workshop aims to facilitate communication between the government and the media in the course of Vietnam’s deeper integration into the global community.

The spokespersons will be provided with fundamental knowledge of the modern press, ways to establish ties with the press in and out the country and various other communication skills.

Apart from learning theory, the participants will also practice their skills in writing press releases and communicating with the press, under the guidance of experienced German, European and Vietnamese experts, including former deputy prime minister Vu Khoan and former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Bang.

The course will also be held in Ho Chi Minh City from September 21 to 23.
