LookAtVietnam – The Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman on September 11 answered questions about the arrest of some bloggers and reporters over the last several weeks.

Nga explained that the security agency recently held bloggers and reporters, including Bui Thanh Hieu, Pham Doan Trang and Nguyen Ngoc Nhu Quynh, in an investigation of “signs of harmful acts to national security.”

She said the security agency released Hieu and Trang, but Quynh is still in custody pending further investigation.

“The security agency conformed to Vietnamese law in detaining these people. Regretfully, some organizations and individuals have exaggerated this fact to make false claims,” Nga stated.
