Finnish Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen will pay an official three visit to Vietnam starting November 15, according to the government website.

The visit, made on the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, aims to strengthen the ties of friendship and economic cooperation between the two countries.

As one of the first countries to provide Vietnam with official development assistance, Finland has so far extended loans and non-refundable aid worth nearly US$400 million, mainly for poverty reduction, environmental protection and scientific and technological advancement, the website says.
