Lieutenant General Pham Xuan The is stitching his uniform. The historical battle in his life is the Ho Chi Minh campaign. At 11am of April 30, 1975, captain Pham Xuan The and his soldiers entered the major meeting hall of the Independence Palace in Saigon. When the President of the Saigon regime Duong Van Minh said: “We are awaiting the liberation army to hand over”, Captain The immediately replied and that statement made history: “You don’t hand over anything, but you have to surrender unconditionally”.

Lieutenant General, Rear Admiral Nguyen Van Tinh, the hero of the naval commando. He doesn’t talk much about himself but he makes others feel that he is a man of action.

Lieutenant General Nguyen An, who conducted many great battles and campaigns, including the Mau Than 1968 campaign and the battle on the Road No.9 in southern Laos in 1972. The fifth campaign that General An commanded was the one to liberate Hue city and Da Nang in central Vietnam and the final was the historical Ho Chi Minh campaign. In the time of peace, he still keeps his enthusiasm and the manner of a general.

Adam, in the interview with General Huy, described the general as a street-wise man. Three reasons to defeat the US army that General Huy mentioned in the interview were: Vietnamese soldiers weren’t frightened of sacrifice and they fought for the heart and the freedom of the country; their understanding of the terrain in fighting, and that the US troops not only had to cope with the liberation army but the entire Vietnamese people.
