Do Thi Kim Lien, general director of the AAA Insurance Company has been appointed as Consul of Honor of South Africa in Vietnam.

This is the first time South Africa has appointed a Consul of Honor in Vietnam. Lien will mostly work in HCM City where she will help promote cooperation between the two countries.

“At this moment, the appointment of the South African Consule of Honor in Vietnam is very important. It will help strengthen bilateral ties, economic development and business relations between the two countries,” said Tran Quang Dung, director of the HCM City Department of Foreign Affairs at the appointment ceremony in HCM City on December 10.

Liensaid. “This is a new job. The Consul of Honor will play the role of a bridge between the two countries,” she said.

The new Consul of Honor said that she and the South Africa Consulate in HCM City will organize seminars to help Vietnamese business receive information about business and investment opportunities in South Africa.
