In the meeting with overseas Vietnamese representatives on February 2, Party Secretary General Nong Duc Manh said the Party and the State would continue reviewing policies for overseas Vietnamese.

Party Chief Manh, president Nguyen Minh Triet, national chairman Nguyen Phu Trong, permanent member of the Central Party Committee’s Secretariat Truong Tan Sang and Party and state leaders received 30 overseas Vietnamese representatives.

The Party Chief confirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam always sees overseas Vietnamese as its own flesh and blood and a coherent part of the Vietnamese people. He expects overseas Vietnamese to continue preserving traditional culture and contribute to the country’s development.

He the Party and the State would continue researching appropriate policies for overseas Vietnamese.

Vice chairman of the Vietnamese Association in the UK, Hoang Van Loc, member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central committee, said that overseas Vietnamese may not live in Vietnam but their hearts are always at home.

Loc says he hopes the Party and the State issue new policies to further facilitate overseas Vietnamese’s contribution to the country.

Manh confirms that overseas Vietnamese are a coherent part of the Vietnamese people.

The Politburo’s Resolution 36 says that overseas Vietnamese is the important resources of the country.
