A Vietnamese delegation visited the USS George Washington aircraft carrier offshore from Da Nang on August 8.

The visit was made at the invitation of the US Embassy in Vietnam as part of activities to mark the 15th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.

USS George Washington (CVN 73) is an American nuclear-powered supercarrier, the sixth ship in the Nimitz class and the fourth United States Navy ship to be named after George Washington. She was built by Newport News Shipbuilding and was commissioned on July 4, 1992.
