VietNamNet Bridge – From September 15 through October 13, draft documents for the 11^th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) will be published to collect comments.

Nguyen Bac Son from the CPV Education and Popularization Committee said that this is a way to bring into play the people’s decision-making powers over the country’s important issues.

Organizations, CPV members and people can make comments upon the entire or part of the draft documents and suggestions.

The draft documents include: political program on building the country in the transitional period to socialism; political report of the 10^th Party Central Committee; and the Social and Economic development Strategy for 2010-2020.

The 11^th Party Congress will be held in early January 2011. After that, election of the People’s Councils, the People’s Committees at all levels and the 13^th National Assembly will be organized.

The CPV Congress occurs once every five years to elect the new Party Central Committee and the Politburo.
