VietNamNet Bridge – The three-day HCM City Party Committee Congress closed on October 7. Le Thanh Hai was re-elected as the Party Secretary in the 2010-2015 term.

The three Vice Party Secretaries include: Le Hoang Quan (HCM City People Committee’s Chair), Nguyen Van Dua and Nguyen Thi Thu Ha both are (HCM City People Committee’s Vice Chairs).

The congress also elected 69 members of the HCM City Party Committee and 17 members of the HCM City Party Standing Committee.

HCM City Party Chief Le Thanh Hai was born in 1950 in the southern province of Tien Giang. He is a bachelor of economics and bachelor of literature. He was previously Vice Party Secretary and Chairman of HCM City People’s Committee. He is a member of the Politburo.

On June 28 2005, Party Chief Nong Duc Manh assigned Le Thanh Hai as HCM City Party Secretary in the 2005-2010 term.
