Vietnam’s PM visits Cambodia

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung arrived Cambodia on Monday with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.

The delegation had been invited by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.

During their meeting, in Phnom Penh, the two leaders agreed to continue to strengthen cooperation in different fields like national defense and mining.

Dung also met with Cambodia’s King Norodomi Sihamoni, Senate President Chea Sim, and Chairman of the National Assembly Heng Samrin.

Joining Dung on the official visit were Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Gia Khiem, and Central Bank Governor Nguyen Van Giau, among others.

Vietnam’s investment is increasing rapidly in the neighboring kingdom. VnExpress reported that the country is funding more than 60 projects worth over US$900 million, adding that the two countries’ trade this year was expected to reach $2 billion.
