The deal
was made at a meeting between Viet Nam News Agency General Director Tran Mai

“Japan’s
Kyodo News Agency is always an important and reliable partner of Viet Nam News
Agency,” Huong said.

He said
the two agencies had already been improving the exchange of information and
supporting mechanisms.

Huong
said VNA highly valued information provided by Kyodo News, considering it an
official and reliable information source. He added that VNA’s Tokyo-based bureau
received valuable assistance from Kyodo.

He said
he wanted the Japanese agency to share its experience in managing professional
activities, such as providing video and photo news, using technology to provide
information on the internet and in the training of human resources.

Huong
said the two agencies should boost co-operation in sharing news covering
economy, investment, culture, tourism and infrastructure development.

The
Kyodo News Agency President congratulated VNA on its recent development
programmes and development, including the launch of a multi-language
mobile-phone service, an e-newspaper VietnamPlus and a news-only TV channel,
Vnews.

He said
the rapidly growing friendly relations and economic and cultural co-operation
between the two countries created a need for more information for investors and
entrepreneurs.

Later,
chair of the Viet Nam Journalists’ Association Dinh The Huynh also received the
Kyodo president.

Huynh
said Vietnamese journalists attached great importance to developing co-operation
with their Japanese colleagues.
