This event will be held at the National Convention Centre
in Hanoi with over 1,500 eminent delegates in the Patriotic Movement lanched by
the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

The Office of Central Steering Committee on Anti-corruption
held a meeting with five individuals who are to be honour for their part in
stopping anti-corruption from occurring in Hanoi. It is the first time these
individuals will be honoured at the National Patriotic Emulation Congress.

Specifically, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, who unmask many wrong
things relating to land deals around West Lake development in Hanoi. In
addition, newspaper reporters, Phan Thi Thanh Huong, successful identify certain
mistakes made during his investigations.

According to the Office of Central Steering Committee on
Anti-corruption, corruption remains a pressing and complicated matter, as it
affects many sectors and branches at various levels. Continuing to carry out the
‘fight against corruption’, in a persistent and resolute manner, is the key in
stopping corruption, said the Office. Many people have been brave in the attempt
to stop corruption; some of them have sacrificed their lives.

On the same day, Tran Thi Ha, Chairwoman of the Central
Emulation and Rewards Councils and Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City
People’s Committee met the city’s delegations who will join the 8th National
Patriotic Emulation Congress.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Quan said, The 8th National
Patriotic Emulation Congress is one of the most important events with
participation at various levels and sectors in all social life.

In HCM City, patriotic emulation campaign helped accelerate
the city’s socio-economic development. In 2010, although the country’s economy
still faced many difficulties, HCM City continues to lead other cities, in
various sectors of the economy, with an increase of 11.8 percent in GDP.

In recent years, HCM City has more outstanding individuals
and organizations when the patriotic emulation campaign connects closely with
the ‘Study and follow Ho Chi Minh’s moral example’ campaign.
