The 12th National Assembly Standing Committee convened its 38th session in Hanoi Monday under the chairmanship of Party General Secretary and NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong.

The 12th National Assembly Standing Committee convened its 38th session in Hanoi Monday under the chairmanship of Party General Secretary and NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong.

During the six-day session, the committee will make suggestions on working reports of the 12th NA and the NA Standing Committee.

It will focus on preparing a review of reports by the State President, the Government, the Prime Minister, the Director of the People’s Supreme Procuracy and Chief Judge of the People’s Supreme Court during the 2007-2011 period.

It is scheduled to approve supplements and amendments to a number of articles in the Ordinance on the Procurators of People’s Procuracies and supplements and amendments to a number of articles included in the Ordinance on Judges and Jurors of People’s Courts.

The NA Standing Committee will put forward opinions on the Government’s supplementary report on the results of the country’s socio-economic development and the State budgetary plans in 2010, socio-economic development and the States budget plans in early 2011 as well as the Government’s report on the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group’s utilisation of VND3.5 trillion from the State budget in 2011.

It will also provide opinions on the personnel preparations for full-time deputies of the 13th NA.

The Standing Committee will debate supplements and amendments to a number of articles in the Civil Procedure Code, the draft law on the capital city, the Law on Anti-Human Trafficking and the Law on Independent Audits.

In the morning of February 14, the committee made comments on the reports provided by the Director of the People’s Supreme Procuracy and the Chief Judge of the People’s Supreme Court during the period 2007-2011.
