The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, Quentin Bryce, will visit Vietnam from May 8 to May 14 to further strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

According to a press realess from the Australian Embassy in Hanoi, during the visit to Vietnam, the Governor-General will meet with Vietnamese leaders in Hanoi and provincial leaders in Da Nang, Hue city, Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria – Vung Tau.

She will also open the World Conference on Drowning Prevention in Da Nang. She will also address HIV/AIDS, helmet safety, nursing and preventable blindness.

Quentin Bryce is the first woman ever to be a Governor-General of Australia, and became the 25th person to hold the position when she was sworn in on September 5, 2008.
