National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc
Kien said that the election dissemination of the 13th National Assembly and the
People’s Councils for the 2011-2016 term had contributed to the success of the
nation’s big event.

Kien was
speaking at a conference held in Ha Noi yesterday, June 2, to review
dissemination and education related to recent elections.

Reports
from the Election Council Sub-committee revealed that around 514 documents and
93 photos regarding National Assembly activities had been posted on the
council’s website and that around 25 foreign reporters and hundreds of domestic
journalists had been supported in accessing information and interviewing those
involved at polling stations nation-wide.

National
Assembly Office Vice Chairman Nguyen Sy Dung said that local press and media had
successfully covered the elections. The Vietnam News Agency posted more than
1,000 news items in eight different languages while Nhan Dan (The People) and
Quan Doi Nhan Dan (People’s Army) newspapers posted around 800 and 200
respectively.

Dung,
although praising dissemination work in ethnic languages and word-of-mouth
methods, noted that the fund for activities remained limited, resulting in
ineffective education and dissemination in several areas.
