Party Politburo member Truong Tan Sang has
called on enterprises from Japan’s Kansai region to invest more in Viet Nam,
especially in science and technology.

During
his Saturday’s receptions of leaders of the Kansai Economic Federation, the
Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, plus discussions with leaders of Kansai
region’s economic groups, Sang pledged favourable conditions for Kansai
businesses to get involved in projects in Viet Nam.

Any
obstacles would be removed so that Kansai’s enterprises could play an important
role in development of bilateral trade ties with Japan, said Sang, who is also
the permanent member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee.

On
Friday, Sang received leaders of prefectures in Kansai region and Osaka and
Sakai cities.

Sang
said he hoped the authorities and socio-economic organisations in Kansai would
contribute their ideas to the success of Viet Nam-Japan friendship year in 2013
to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

On the
occasion, Sang also expressed his deep sympathies over the Japanese people’s
losses caused by the twin disasters, saying Viet Nam would do its best to
contribute to Japan’s post-disaster reconstruction.

Leaders
of Kansai region’s prefectures and economic organisations thanked Viet Nam for
its assistance, spiritually and physically.

They
said Japan highly valued Viet Nam’s dynamism in economic development and
expected to boost investment in the country and further strengthen bilateral
co-operation, especially in economy, culture, tourism and agriculture.
