This huge number of workers was mobilized to work 24 hours a day to clean up the rubbish that was stuck in the central city of Vinh, Nghe An province for a whole week.

The rubbish which was not cleaned up for nine days turned Vinh city into the city of waste. Locals had to live in a terrible environment which was full of the bad smell.

The local urban hygiene and environmental company didn’t find a place to contain the rubbish because while their old dumping ground was full, the people who live near the new dumping ground didn’t allow workers to bring the rubbish.

After many meetings with Vinh officials, on January 9 evening local people allowed the urban hygiene and environmental company to use the new dumping ground, but the firm has to pay a compensation.

The environmental company immediately assigned nearly 700 workers to collect rubbish in the city. By noon January 10, more than 350 tons of rubbish in 11 major roads in Vinh city was collected.

Workers are collecting waste in small streets and in residential areas. It is expected that all rubbish will be collected by January 12 morning.
