VietNamNet Bridge – The Hanoi Department of Science and
Technology said that the measures to treat the ancient turtle and kill
red-eared turtles will be approved on February 25.

The agency is considering putting an intelligent swimming
pool inside the Hoan
Kiem Lake
as the home for the turtle.

Designed by Dr. Nguyen Viet Vinh, a seacooking expert, nano and
magnetic pumping machines will be used to ensure water quality inside the pool.
The turtle will be taken care of in the pool until he recovers.

The agency and scientists on February 21 continued their
discussion to find out the most effective measure to save the turtle.

On February 15, the department hosted an international
workshop on solutions to preserve the ancient turtle in the Hoan Kiem Lake.

Prof. Ha Dinh Duc, who has researched the old turtle for 20
years, said that the most important thing is improving the aquatic environment.
He suggested eight measures such as checking the lake bed, the water drainage
system, killing red-eared turtles, taking the old turtle to the shore for
treatment, etc.

Turtle expert Nguyen Ngoc Khoi proposed mixing herbal
remedies into the turtle’s food to cure wounds for the turtle.

On February 17, the Hanoi
Government set up an emergency committee to protect the legendary turtle.
