Around 2000 Vietnamese workers in Libya are being transported to neighboring countries to then be brought home by air. The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) on February 24 said that the ministry and related agencies would help Vietnamese citizens in Libya. they will be transported to neighboring countries by land and then return to Vietnam by air. In some cases, Vietnamese citizens will go home from Libya by air. At this moment, Libyan employers are transporting around 2000 Vietnamese citizens to Egypt, Turkey, Malta and Tunisia. The Vietnamese Embassies in these countries are responsible to welcome and perform formalities for these people. The MoLISA together with the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and manpower exporting companies, will send working groups to assist Vietnamese citizens. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs have asked these countries and international organizations to assist Vietnamese citizens who will be coming from Libya. Vietnam Airlines will bring these people home itself or in cooperation with other local airlines. Today, February 25, at least 200 Vietnamese workers in Libya will arrive in Hanoi. Nearly 300 people have died in violence in Libya since the uprising against the government broke out on February 17.
