Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung.

While going up to the rooftop of his three-story house in District 10, HCM City, to watch the plumbers fix the water system, Nguyen Tien Dung – Deputy Director of the HCM City Department of Transport - fell down to the ground and passed away on May 3.

He was rushed to hospital for emergency care. But he died one hour later.

According to the HCM City Department of Home Affairs, Dung, 50, was just appointed as deputy director of HCM City City’s Department of Transport last month.

He is a member of the municipal Communist Party Committee, Chair of the management board and Party Secretary of the Saigon Transport and Mechanics Corporation (SAMCO).

Dung is also a member of the current HCM City People’s Council and one of the 161 shortlisted candidates for the upcoming People’s Council election. He was allocated to the voting precinct No. 15 (Binh Tan district).

After Dung passed away, candidate Tran Ngoc hung, Vice Chair of the HCM City Alliance of Cooperatives, has been moved from the voting precinct No. 27 (Binh Chanh district) to replace Dung in the voting precinct No. 15.
