The Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations on February 17 held a scientific seminar to give ideas to the 14th draft on the Vietnam educational development strategy for the 2009 - 2020 period.

The draft includes seven contents: the education situation in Vietnam in the first years of the 21st century; the domestic and international background in the first decades of the 21st century; the guiding points of view on educational development; the strategic targets for the 2009 - 2020 period; the strategic solutions; the national target programme; the organisation and implementation.

The draft mentioned a lot of solutions towards learners through the development of the good learning environment where learners can share and express their own opinions. The learners are the centre of the 2009 - 2020 Vietnam educational development strategy.

Over 30 scientists participating in this seminar gave their opinions on the strategy’s duration which should be from 2010 to 2020 or from 2010 - 2015, the need of the clearer analysis of the current educational situation including the teaching staff, the schools and universities’ infrastructure and the curricula.
