The Japanese Embassy in coordination with the Nguyen Dinh Chieu secondary school in Hanoi on February 25 launched a project to supply equipment for blind students at a total cost of US$82,282 in non-refundable aid.

The Japanese Embassy in coordination with the Nguyen Dinh Chieu secondary school in Hanoi on February 25 launched a project to supply equipment for blind students at a total cost of US$82,282 in non-refundable aid.

Addressing the launch ceremony, the Japanese ambassador to Vietnam expressed his desire to help students in the Nguyen Dinh Chieu secondary school to study and make great progress. He hoped that the project would deepen the friendship and mutual understanding between Vietnam and Japan.

The Japanese government will put up funds for the Nguyen Dinh Chieu secondary school to buy printing machines for reference books in Braille and sound equipment to assist students with hearing practice.

The Nguyen Dinh Chieu secondary school now has 120 blind students studying alongside 1120 sighted students. This education model aims to help blind students integrate well into society.

Japanese Crown Prince Naruhito also paid a visit to the school on February 20. He participated in a musical instrument performance with students and encouraged them to study well and become good citizens.
