Look At Vietnam – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan has asked vocational training schools to publicise their standards regarding graduation, curricula and resources in order to ensure continued high-quality training.

The state will create conditions allowing vocational schools to enjoy preferential policies and encourage organisations and individuals to increase their involvement in education and training.

Accordingly, schools must assess the knowledge, skills and possible employment positions of trainees following their graduation, he said, adding that they would be placed under State control and quality accreditation would be undertaken by authorised agencies.

According to Nhan, the state will create conditions allowing vocational schools to enjoy preferential policies and encourage organisations and individuals to increase their involvement in education and training.

The Deputy PM also entrusted the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) with working alongside relevant ministries and agencies to draft a legal document regarding the legal status of vocational schools run by enterprises as well as developing tuition and scholarship procedures for policy beneficiaries.

The ministry should publicise the availability of soft loans that can be used for the purpose of upgrading vocational training equipment and launch a pilot project focusing on increasing training cooperation between vocational schools, colleges and universities before the end of April, added Nhan.

MoLISA has been urged to complete a report detailing the demand for teachers at privately-run vocational schools and finalise a project regarding teaching staff and training programmes by August this year.
