Bloggers nowadays are not only teenagers and students, but they also could be the teachers who want to share their teaching resources via blogs.

Teacher Tran Anh Huy’s website

“I was ‘wandering’ on the Internet to look for interesting mathematics questions when I accidentally opened a very interesting website, which showed a lot of interesting mathematics questions. Finally, I found out that the owner of the weblog is a mathematics teacher in Hue city City,” Nguyen Mai Phuong, a 12th class student of Phan Dinh Phung High School in Hanoi, said.

Phuong has been surfing the web since she entered the 10th class in order to exchange information with friends and seek learning materials on the Internet. However, this was the first time Phuong accessed a website of a teacher, and she has been very surprised with the diversified information here and the enthusiasm of teacher Cao Long, the owner of the website.

Besides giving concrete exercises to students of different classes, Long and his colleagues at the Nam Dong High School in Hue City, also provide the questions of the previous years’ final exams. Phuong said that she has downloaded the questions and shares them with friends.

“I made the blog in order to help students settle difficulties when they learn mathematics,” Long said. His words explain why all the questions and concerns from students have been answered by Long.

With a simple, but friendly design, the website of teacher Tran Anh Huy, from Le Quy Don Secondary School in Dong Nai province, proves to be a very useful database, which includes a lot of e-lesson plans, exam questions, exercises, and e-book for both teachers and students.

While getting confused about selecting a university, Hang Nga, a student of Nguyen Binh Khiem People-Founded High School in Hanoi, suddenly discovered a website on career advice. The owner of the website is Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, a teacher of Cam Ba Thuoc High School in Thanh Hoa province.

The information about the final exams and enrolment for universities and junior colleges, as well as stories about selecting study branches to follow has all been updated on the website.

Nga said that the information can be found in some other places. However, it would help avoid wasting time to look at all the information on only one website.

The interesting thing is that most of the teachers are ‘outsiders,’ not informatics teachers, and do not work in Hanoi or HCM City, but in localities.

“I spend a lot of time designing my website. As I have to go to school in the daytime, I have to stay late at night for my website,” said Nguyen Van Cu, a physics teacher of Cam Thuy III High School in Thanh Hoa province.

Nguyen Dang Hoang Duy, an English teacher of Thong Linh High School in Dong Thap province, also said that he has to use his spare time for the website. Duy said that the website helps him save time to teach his students, while students can have the chance to access more knowledge, no matter how far they are from the teacher.

For these many reasons, the teachers, though having to spend 3-4 hours a day for the websites, have still been enthusiastic with the ‘online classes.’
