Officers checked the list of examinees in 2008 exam.

According to the University Education Department, 64 officers of different teaching subjects have been brought to isolated areas where they are compiling exam questions.

The Ministry of Education and Training on June 28 reported that it has completed the examination of over 25 establishments authorised to print exam questions. In general, the establishments have well prepared material facilities and other conditions to ensure the security and secrecy of exam questions.

The ministry’s inspectors are giving training courses to supervisors of exam question printing establishments and exam supervisors.

Setting up taskforce on fighting H1N1 flu

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan said that the ministry has requested universities, junior colleges and academies set up taskforces to fight H1N1 flu during exam days.

The teams have the responsibility of supervising exam rooms, quickly discovering and treating individuals suspected of being infected with H1N1. The teams have to have reserve medicine in order to timely react in cases of infection.

The ministry has advised students who will take the university entrance exams to take care of themselves to avoid catching the flu.

According to the University Education Department, the total number of registrations for university entrance exams in 2009 is 2,125,975, a decrease of three percent in comparison with 2008. Of this amount, there were 1,565,286 registrations to take exams to enter universities (73.5 percent) and 560,689 registrations for junior colleges, or 26.5 percent. Students registering to take exams in the A group (mathematics, physics and chemistry) prove to account for the biggest proportion.
